Vehicle Corrosion



Columbia Corrosion Control (CCC), and it’s parent company, PrivaCom Ventures, Inc. are research partners at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research called CU-ICAR.  One of the most advance Automotive Research Centers in the World.  Here CCC Engineers have been involved with leading edge automotive research in: vehicle materials, electric vehicles, dynamic charging, test track designs and construction.  This has included Autos, Heavy Trucks, even Motorcycles.

Also, for over 40 years CCC chief engineer, William Byrd, P.E.,C.S. has been working on old cars and restoring vehicles.  From old Jaguars to Porches and from Fords to GMC trucks, Mr. Byrd and other CCC executives have been involved in many “ground up,” vehicle restorations.

 

CCC executives have served as Presidents, Officers or members of many car clubs including: the President of Statewide South Carolina Holy City Jaguar Club, President of the South Carolina Ford Mustang Owners Club & Board Member of the National Ford Mustang Owners Club, the Sports Car Club of America, Skip Barber Professional Race Drivers School graduates, the S.C. Porsche Club, and etc.

 

Decades ago, CCC applied some of the very first applications of Carbomastic 15 coatings to vehicles.  It has experimented with various types of coatings and materials for vehicle applications.  CCC has even repaired the exhaust systems of the US Marine Corp’s M1A1 & M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks.
